In 1991 Dato Khalid was tasked to start the first electronic derivative exchange in the country, The KL Options and Financial Futures Exchange or KLOFFE.
As director in charge, he launched KLOFFE on 15 December 1995 while still in his fulltime position as TV3 MD. KLOFFE was eventually taken over by BURSA MALAYSIA.
In 1994, in parallel to his main activities in media, television, advertising and IT industries in Malaysia, Dato' Khalid personally invested in Adelaide, Australia in the areas of applied research for the application of composite materials being used as reinforcement as replacement of steel reinforcement used for protection of coal mines in Australia and US.
He strongly believes in renewable and recycle of materials and resources in order to be environmentally friendly. Company is now operating in Malaysia focusing on buildings & materials protection

Dato’ Khalid also helped to conceptualize the winning video that won the bid for Malaysia to host the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
Dato’ Khalid served as a board member of Technology Park Malaysia for 17 years until 2012, a GOC company under Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOSTE).
He was also an adjunct professor and adviser to several universities.
Currently a Past President of Malaysia Advisory Committee of the
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Malaysia
(after serving for eight years as President).
ACCA has about 10,000 professional accountant members in and about 24,000 student members
in Malaysia.
After being elected by ACCA members over 180 countries, Dato’ Khalid volunteered his time to
sit in the ACCA World Council in London. He was elected (in September 2011) and
went on to serve for 2-3 year terms until 2014.
Within the above period he was also appointed by the Malaysian Finance Minister 2 to serve for
two terms in the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
This is the regulatory membership based body for accountants in Malaysia.
